The deceased and another hewer employed in the Ten Quarters Band a broken working 4 yards wide having a coal roof 2 feet thick. While Deceased was in the act of squaring back the bottom coal in order to set a prop some top coal and suddenly fell away from a slip caught him in a stooping position. The deputy had just left the place after examining it for the second time and instructed the deceased to set the as an extra precaution.
