Deceased was assisting to push a tub of coal out of a gate when there was a fall of about 9 tons of roof, and he and another trammer were buried. Both were extricated within half an hour, but deceased was dead while the second trammer was practically uninjured. The gate had only been turned in about 4 yards and was, in direction, coincident with a well defined slip in the roof stone which accounts for the fall. The place had been examined by a deputy 1.5 hours before and reported safe.
