17 December 1926: A machineman, William Gordon Smith (36), who resided at 8 Station Terrace, Steelend, Fife, was killed in the Lethans Pit, Saline, belonging to Wilsons & Clyde Coal Company (Ltd) yesterday, as the result of a fall of material from the roof.
