He was about to draw a prop from a partially built pack and was proceeding to fasten his sylvester chain to a prop when a quantity of coal and dirt fell tom the roof and injured him so severely that he died from his injuries in the infirmary two days later. A slip was revealed in the roof after the fall occurred. A temporary prop would have prevented the accident. Risks of a similar character are taken too frequently.
