- Details of Event
- Fell against the walling or cradle on which he was working and which was being raised four or five feet by the winding engine, no one saw him fall but hearing a splash they soon understood what was the matter. He fell into some 12 or 15 feet of water and was dead when got out. They were walling the shaft and the cradle fits the shaft with a margin of only about three to four inches all around to allow room for its being moved upwards or downwards is required. The cradle must have got above the walling at time of the accident.
