- 6 April 1937: A Formal verdict was also returned in inquiries into the death of Andrew Brown Sinclair, underground fireman, 70 Cairns Street, Kirkcaldy, found dead in the haulageway of the Lochhead Pit East Wemyss, on May 29, 1937. The jury stated in their verdict that the accident was believed to be caused by the derailment of an empty hutch, although the evidence did not disclose the cause of the derailment.
