Deceased was engaged in driving a wedge to get roof down in the ripping of a gate-road. He only wanted about 18 inches down, but when this gave way another layer of stone immediately above it also fell. The fall extended to a slip 11 feet behind the deceased. The upper layer fell upon him and killed him. The slip was visible, and props should have been set.
