Details of Event
Fall of roof (coal and shale) at longwall face in Cockshead seam. This was a large fall about 7 yards long which came away at a fault at one end and knocked out five bars. The fall was caused by a heavy goth. Two other men had narrow escapes, being withdrawn the area of the fall and one on each side of deceased one saved himself by getting under the holing. The place was well timbered.
