Deceased, along with another workman, was engaged repairing timbering over the landing plate in front of the caunch a bout 10 feet from the coal face. While in the act of driving up a prop to a bar which was canted on existing props, a fall of roof, 8 feet by 4 feet 6 inches by 10 inches thick, occurred, and Sherrington received injuries from which he died in a few minutes. The other workman received a severe scalp wound.
