- Details of Event
- Deceased and another man had withdrawn three props in the gate at a point some 10 yards from the face. They examined the roof and, considering it safe, began to straighten the tub road. About half air hour later a quantity of roof stone fell and killed deceased. The gate was 9 feet wide and the roof was an irregular bind. A deputy had examined the place three hours before the accident happened and found all safe. No timber was knocked out by the fall.
