- Details of Event
- In connection with a new Baum washer which was being erected the flooring of a storey about 22ft from the ground was being made by means of brick arches sprung from steel girders three feet apart. On of these arches had been finished on the previous night and the joiners had removed the centres and were putting them in for the next arch, and he was standing on two planks placed above the recently built arch passing timber to the joiners, when he stepped on to the arching which collapsed, and he fell to the ground and was so severely injured that he died the following day. He had been warned to keep of the arch but evidently had for the moment forgot this warning.
