- Details of Event
- Deceased and his mate had nearly finished clearing away the debris from a canch shot, when a fall of roof occurred, and he was caught by the edge of the fall. Eight or nine props were canted out and the stone came away from two slips, one of which was not visible before the accident. They bad been visited by the fireman, and acting on his instructions they had set additional props and two sprags to prevent the stone at the canch side overriding the props. Owing to the stone being much heavier at one end than at the other, this was apparently what actually happened.
