Along with another dataller 60 years of age, were taking off side in a jig brew, repairing, 40 yards from the face, the tubs caught the side in passing. A stone, 6 feet by 5 feet by 1 foot thick, fell on to the back of deceased. Very probably the men had disturbed the sidepack upon which the stone depended, allowing it to fall without any warning.
