- Details of Event
- Deceased had occasion to pass from one side of the quarry to the other but instead of going round about the hole as instructed he attempted to cross along the top of a narrow rib of granite which separated two holes respectively 300 and 130 feet in depth. The original surface at the entrance to this barrier had been covered to a depth of about 12 feet with debris from former excavations. While descending the slope of this debris it slipped from under his feet he rolled down and fell to the bottom of the smaller hole striking several ledges as he fell. He had only been employed at the quarry for about a week.
