When turning some broken tubs aside on an incline, a pony loosed from work and going out-bye uncontrolled by its driver galloped past him. A crook of hook at the end of its side chain caught him by the leg, pulled him over and dragged him out-bye for a distance of 284 yards. The hook had meantime ripped his leg down to the boot. He died shortly after reaching home.
