6 December 1927: Bathgate Miner Dies From Injuries - Charles Savage, miner, 69 Durhamtown, Bathgate, has died in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary from injuries received in an accident which occurred, in the Riddochhill Colliery. Savage was struck by material following the firing of a shot in his working place. He sustained a fractured skull. The deceased leaves a widow and three children.
