This accident occurred at the face of the Yard Coal in a stall which was taking the first weight. Deceased had drawn out the sprags, and, 3ft. from the buttock, had tried to wedge down the top coal. Failing to get the coal down, he was dressing it off with his pick when it fell, knocked out two trees, and brought down the roof coal and clod above. Deceased was buried and was dead when got out.
