- Rutter was assisting engineers in the erection of winding engines in a new house fifty-six feet by thirty-eight feet. He had ascended to the roof by means of a ladder, and walked along planks to lower a hand pulley block. When returning, he appears to have tripped over a beam, while stepping on to a stage consisting of three planks, and through falling front a height of thirty feet, got killed. Deceased was reported to be experienced in roof work.
