Whilst deceased was stemming a shothole a half cartridge of compressed powder came into contact with his candle. He was burnt on the neck and hands but would not allow the doctor to dress his wounds, as be considered they were trifling. Deceased was an intemperate man, and on becoming worse, was sent to the Infirmary on 25th April. He died on 28th April from extensive superficial burns.
