- 2 May 1937: Miner's Death After Mishap In Colliery - A Bellshill miner named Alexander Russell (46), who resided at 45 Calder Road, Mossend, died in Glasgow Royal Infirmary yesterday as the result of an accident in Gateside Colliery, near Cambuslang.
