Deceased had just succeeded in replacing on the rails a tram of coal which was being drawn up a dip by his horse, when the horse darted forward and came to a dead stop against a wooden door 15 yards away. Owing to the concussion the little pin of the shaft lifted and the tram ran over deceased, who was following in rear. He had removed the barhook when putting the tram on the rails. Having lost his own little pin, he was using a road-nail as a makeshift.
