He injured his head by falling off the buffer of a railway truck. He was in very bad health suffering from chronic bronchitis. Erysipelas developed in wound on head. Medical evidence was that the cause of death was chronic bronchitis becoming acute and accelerated by erysipelas following a contused wound on head and that the wound itself apart from the other conditions would not have caused death. Died 6th February, 1903.
