- Details of Event
- When alone in the Assay Office he appears to have had a fit of some kind, resulting in the breakage of bottles containing acids. He was found next morning on the floor dead, his body in places being more or less burned with acids. The presumption is that he died from shock resulting from the effects of injuries caused by the acids while in a fit. It is not outside possibility that he died from the fit itself and that the acids affected the body after death. He was not known to be subject to fits by his family.
