Deceased was ascending in a cage and when about 70 yds. from the surface something fell on the cage top and smashed it. The other occupant did not miss deceased until the surface was reached. He had evidently been struck on the head and fell out. The shaft was carefully examined, but nothing was found to have fallen out of the walling.
