23 January 1918: In Drumley No.1 (Ayr) Colliery five or six men were engaged clearing away the debris from a fall, when another fall took place, and James Martin, miner, Whitletts, was killed, and Francis Kerr, fireman, Annbank, and Patrick Connor, repairer, Mossburn, were injured.
