- Details of Event
- A fall of roof occurred on a self-acting jig in the Two Yard seam, and when a pony driver was taking an empty tub attached to the pony up the jig brow the pony stopped suddenly at a wooden air-door. The sudden stop caused the hook of the pony’s chain to become detached from the coupling link of the tub and the tub to run hack, fatally crushing the deceased at the bottom of the brow. The pony driver omitted to use the back-stay provided in the shunt at the bottom of the brow.
