- Died July 13 Deceased was cut about the head and had one of his thumbs so injured as to necessitate amputation, by a fall of stone in the Relief pit on the 14th March, and was off work 14 weeks in consequence. On the 13th July he was found in working place in the Forster pit very ill, and soon became unconscious and remained so until he died at his home a few hours later. There was no suggestion of any second accident said at the inquest held after a post-mortem examination, medical evidence was given that death was due to apoplexy and was not due to any accident, and so the Jury found.
