Shaft Accident killed 4. These men were in the shaft, three of them on a scaffold, and the other in the kettle, when, owing to an accident at the winch, the rope came off the drum and allowed the scaffold to fall to the bottom of the shaft, and in falling it caught the man in the kettle and knocked him out of it. 4 killed.
