- Details of Event
- Deceased and two other men were loading telephone poles on to a lorry. The first pole rested on a trestle at the front end of the lorry, and the thick end was supported by a square block. Deceased was skidding the pole on the lorry to make room for two others, when, owing to his head coming into contact with a projection at the back part of the lorry, he released his hold of the pole, which then crushed his head against the end of the lorry. He continued working although feeling ill, but died on the following day from concussion of the brain.
