- 3 December 1926: Bo'ness Man Seriously Injured - George Robertson (72), miner, in the employment of Kinneil Coal Company (Ltd.), Bo'ness, was yesterday knocked down by a runaway hutch in the north dook of Furnaceyard Pit, and sustained a fracture of the skull, and fracture also of the right leg. In a critical condition, the unfortunate man was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he was operated upon. The operation was stated at a late hour last night to have been successful, but Robertson's condition was then very critical. Robertson is a widower, and resides at 30 North Street Bo'ness.
