30 October 1933: Youth Killed At Bellshill Colliery - Joseph Ritchie, aged 17, of 15 Oriel Place, Pollock Street, Bellshill, who was employed as a pithead worker at Viewpark colliery, Bellshill, belonging to Messrs Wilson & Clyde, was crushed between two hutches at the colliery yesterday, and instantly killed.
