Inquiry made and inquest attended. He with others was engaged in the Fan drift near the edge of shaft changing one of the conducting rods. Deceased went out into daylight for a hammer and there appears to have upset his eyesight as when he came back and not seeing well he by misadventure step into the pit shaft although there were a number of lamps there.
