- Details of Event
- He was engaged in his ordinary occupation at the bottom of jig when four full tubs which had run away from some distance along the road (gradient 1 in 21) owing to the breaking of a wooden locker, struck him, causing severe injuries from the effects of which he died on September 22nd. Sprag posts appear to have been used generally, but there was not one in use at that place. These sprag posts are set from roof to floor, and used as an extra precaution to prevent runaways on roads of slight gradient.
