While deceased and another putter were coming out behind two loaded tubs in pillar workings of the Engine seam one of the tubs became derailed at a bad joint and knocked out a prop and the roof fell. A pony was drawing the tubs but as the road inclined outbye one sprag was in one of the wheels of the first tub and two sprags were in the wheels of the second tub and deceased and the other putter were holding on behind as the pony was somewhat spirited. The Local Inspectors examined the place but did not suggest any neglect on the part of the management.
