In avoiding the fall of a small piece of bannocking clod deceased dislocated his hip joint. After being attended by two local doctors, and going through an operation, he was sent to Nottingham Hospital on the 7th January, 1914. A further operation was performed the same day, and he died under the anaesthetic.
