Details of Event
He was working on a platform at the top of an inclined tramway 37 feet in length, and was in charge of a lever which controlled the haulage gear. After a loaded tram had ascended the incline at a speed of about half-a-mile per hour, and passed through an opening leading into the ore-bin against which he was standing, he was found to be injured. He died a few hours later. No one witnessed the accident, but it appeared to be probable that he was jammed between the tram and a post at the ore-bin entrance.
