With two other men he was pushing a partly filled wagon under the screens. Two empty wagons were standing about 3 feet from them and they were pushing the wagon away from them. The deceased was, foolishly, pushing at the buffer when the two empty wagons followed after them and he was fatally crushed between the buffers. The empty wagons were started by a wagon, which had been foul of a crossing above the screens, being pushed by the locomotive into the road in which they were standing. The road was practically level and the shunter thought the wagon would stand and therefore did not put on the brake as he should have done.
