Deceased was struck on the head by a jig post which was drawn out while jigging a journey of three loads and three empties. His skull was fractured and he died from the injury two days later. The jig-post had been examined by the contractor and was considered safe. Two journeys had been jigged all right before the accident. The post when set was cut into the floor to a depth of 6ins, and into the roof a depth of 6ins. where it was fastened by means of wooden wedges.
