Whilst he was bringing out a rake of five loaded hutches, on an almost level road, a large fall, 12 feet long, occurred, which swung out the bars, which were set skin to skin and completely buried him. The body was not recovered till 1.5 hours later, when life was extinct, death being due to suffocation. The road was very wet, and the timbering was not tied to resist lateral movement.
