Deceased was walking up behind a journey of five loaded trams which were being drawn up a road rising three inches per yard when the D-link which connects the rope to the short length of chain attached to the trams broke. The journey ran back and injured deceased so badly that he died in four days. A barhook was said to have been on the last tram but it failed to prevent the runaway.
