While riding on a loaded train of trams he fell off when attempting to signal to the engineman to stop the journey in consequence of the leading tram leaving the rails. Before the journey was brought to a standstill the first tram had knocked out a pair of timbers and a fall of roof resulted. The fall of roof was not, in my opinion the cause of death.
