- Details of Event
- Deceased was standing for the purpose of signalling, on the inside of a curve on an occasionally used siding worked by a stationary engine and rope to which a set of railway wagons was attached. He was close to one of three large "drum" sheaves used to bind the rope on the curve, but the rope was off the middle one. On starting the load up the hill the rope carried away the framework of the sheave, and violently knocked the deceased over. The post of the framework of the sheave had been placed only 3 feet down into "made" ground.
