Deceased was standing on a bench about 5 feet above the floor of a chalk quarry 50 feet deep, and was working off some chalk from between two visible joints which converged upwards. He had apparently holed it to some extent, when a mass of chalk fell from between the two joints, killing him on the spot. He had over two years' experience in this quarry, and was in charge of the operations.
