Details of Event
Deceased was seriously injured by a fall of coal from the face. The coal was 9 feet long by 5.5 feet high, and varied in thickness from 6 to 15 inches. One sprag was uncapped by the fall. He sustained a fractured thigh and three broken ribs pierced his lungs. He finally succumbed to his injuries on March 7th.
