Details of Event
Died 17th. He went to the assistance of a driver whose horse had fallen when bringing a set of tubs up a gradient. He was stumbling over the tubs to get the back ones when the pony regained it feet and slipped out of its gears. The tubs ran back and Redfern was fatally crushed against an iron girder. A back stay would have prevented the accident and should have been used.
