Raybould was at his work in the fire-hole when he was startled by the noise emitted by an automatic low water indicator on the boilers. He made a remark to a fellow workman that the noise had startled him and immediately collapsed on the floor and died in a few minutes. The cause of death was the rupture of an aneurysm of the aorta.
