- Details of Event
- His duty was to lower the waggons clear of the screens, after being filled at the best coal belt, and put empty ones in their places. The accident occurred 90 yards below the screens, out of the sphere of his work. He was apparently standing on the step of the first of four trucks working the brake and did not notice that he was approaching some more waggons standing on a crossing, with the result that he was crushed in between them and killed. Why be was taking the four wagons so far down is not known.
