- 25 September 1931: Kelty Colliery Accident - Cowdenbeath Man Severely Injured - William Rae, brusher, who resides in Stenhouse Street, Cowdenbeath, was severely injured in an accident at the Lindsay Colliery, Kelty, belonging to the Fife Coal Company. Rae was caught by a heavy fall, and great difficulty was experienced in getting him released, when he was found to be suffering from body injuries. [Dunfermline Journal 3 October 1931]
Cowdenbeath Miner Injured - William Rae (30), 19 Rosehill Crescent, Cowdenbeath, sustained severe injuries while working in the Dunfermline Splint Section of the Lindsay Colliery, Kelty, last Friday. A roof fall occurred, and a stone which was dislodged crushed Rae against the waste. The injured man was taken to Dunfermline and West Fife Hospital where he is making good progress towards recovery.
