22 January 1935: Man Succumbs To Colliery Accident - Thomas Rae (40), Eskdail Lodging House, Dalkeith, who was seriously injured while at work at a coal-cutting machine in Woolmet Colliery shortly before midnight on Monday died yesterday morning a few hour after his admission to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Previous to going to Dalkeith at the beginning of the year he had lived for some time at Musselburgh. [Scotsman 23 January 1935]
