- Details of Event
- In a roadway to prepare to prepair to blow down the roof, whilst striking at a prop with a short hammer, a very large quantity of roof came away from a rank bad slip; the fall came over a bar and a prop. There was no gablock and chain with deceased. It was said that he was only ordered to prepare the shot being alone he was not to take out timber. There was distinct evidence at the inquest that men frequently drew timber alone and did not use gablock and chain. (Good roof).
